Das Bean ist von seinen Grundlagen ein Hybridmodell, welches eine aufregende Alternative zu den traditionellen Shoartboardshapes bietet. Die volle Nose und das breite Center des Boards laufen weich in eine klassiche Shortboard Tail Outline. Dieser einzigartige Shape, kombiniert mit der relaxten Rocklinie, erzeugt eine effiziente Plattform, die das anpaddelt erleichtert, früh Fahrt aufnimmt und super flowt. Auch in größeren Wellen besticht das Model durch seine außergewöhnliche Leistung. Schnell und voller Feuer als Thruster oder Quad, ermöglichen einem die kurzen Beans akrobatische Performance, während die voluminöseren Shapes verlässliche Alleskönner sind. Generell kann man das Bean 3-6 Inch kürzer als reguläre Shortboards surfen.

PE Technologie In der Herstellung von PE Boards werden, mit Holzstringer ausgestattete Polyurethanschaumkerne mit Fiberglassmatten laminiert. Hierfür wird ein spezielles hochtransparentes Epoxit Harz verwendet um zum einen Verfärbungen einzuschränken und zum anderen mehr Flex zu zulassen. So wird ein längeres „Neu-Gefühl“ erziehlt. PE Boards sind schnell, leicht und geben sehr direktes Feedback.

I rode a friends 5'6" Bean down in Tassie a couple of months ago and didn't want to give it back. I ended up with my own and the thing is so responsive you just have to move your eyeballs and it will be happily off in that direction. The most impressive thing for me is it's acceleration, one pump and the bean is flying down the line. I have the future flex model with small fins in. It paddles about the same as my regular 6'0" poly shortboard and it's more more maneuverable but sometimes a bit skittish in bumpy stuff. I guess I bought it because I wanted to do things I can't do on my 6'0" and even after a few surfs I'm doing new stuff; something I can't say I've done on my shortboard for years. They are heaps of fun... now all I need is some waves.
